With the following tickets, you can ride trams and buses operated by the Strasbourg Transport Company (CTS).
Some CTS tickets also allow travel on TER regional trains operated by SNCF (French National Railways).
※ Children under the age of 4 can travel for free.
※ As of July 2025.
Ticket machines are installed at all tram stations in Strasbourg. These machines allow you to purchase most types of tickets. Some major stations also have manned ticket counters, but they are often crowded. If you can use the ticket machines, you can save time.
The ticket machines use a touchscreen interface. To change the language to English, tap the British flag icon at the bottom of the screen.
Next, select "Ticket" on the right side of the screen.
If you are using trams and buses, choose "Travel within the city". If you are taking TER regional trains operated by SNCF to travel outside the city, select "Travel within and outside the city". This guide focuses on tickets for "Travel within the city."
A list of available tickets will be displayed. Select the type of ticket you wish to purchase. If the ticket you’re looking for is not shown, tap "Other tickets" to see more options.
Select the number of tickets you want to purchase.
The total fare will be displayed. Pay using coins or a credit card. Once the payment is complete, your ticket will be printed.

There are no ticket gates for trams. Instead, validation machines are located at the station. Insert your ticket into the machine to print the time stamp. Failure to validate your ticket may result in a fine. Make sure the printed timestamp is clearly visible.

Different tram lines and destinations often use the same platform. Since the tram system can be complex, make sure to double-check the tram number and destination before boarding.

Unlike the stub-end platforms commonly seen at major stations in large French cities, this station features island platforms. By using the high-speed TGV trains, you can access major cities such as Paris and Marseille. Due to its proximity to the German border, trains to and from Germany frequently arrive and depart. Although less frequent, there are also TGV services running via Paris CDG Airport to Brussels, Belgium. The station has 13 tracks in total. Tram lines A and D have their platforms located underground, while line C’s platforms are at ground level.
